Dear Sisters in the League:

Some parishes have had elections and some may have it at a later date. Nonetheless, to the newly elected ones, Congratulations and to the seasoned ones, may you be showered with many blessings by Our Blessed Mother for doing a great job!

We are all familiar with the Beatitudes, and its effect on our lives .To provide enrichment and enhancement for Spiritual growth of members, several parishes have initiated a sixteen week registered program that focuses on 'The Way Of The Beatitudes', which Pope Benedict XVI says, "... promises resplendent with the new image of the world and of man inaugurated by Jesus, His transformation of values." as they " ... present a sort of veiled interior biography of Jesus, a kind of portrait of His figure", getting hold of "directions for discipleship", directions that concern every individual, even though -- according to the variety of calling -- differently for each person."

As we enter the season of Lent, let us reflect on the Stations of the Cross and the Resurrection of our Lord. Do you have any plans for Ecumenism and Interfaith Endeavours during this Holy Season of Lent?

The Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel is April 26, 2011. Please plan on celebrating this feast, and pray to Our Lady for world peace, as we all know and see via the media the turmoil and challenges that some countries globally are experiencing.

World Youth Day will be held August 16-21st, 2011 in Madrid, Spain. Many parishes will be sending youth to this wonderful event, and have a series of fundraising events, in order to pay for their trips. Please provide your ongoing strong support to these youth to attain their goals.

Vocations Mass is slated for September 2011. It will be held in Georgetown at Holy Cross Parish. It is very important that we encourage, support and attend this annual event.

In closing, I pray that as Catholic Women's League Members we continue to work zealously for God, Church and Canada. May Our Lady of Good Counsel be your guide and fortress.
